August 2019 Featuring - Dr Simon Lindley 6 August – DONCASTER MINSTER St George DN1 1RD
13 August – SWINTON St Margaret S64 8EG 20 August – WARMSWORTH St Peter DN4 0TW [The “White Church”] 27 August – DONCASTER Baptist Church, Chequer Road DN1 2AL All concerts began at 7.30pm with free admission A retiring collection at each concert in support of the Millennium Fund of Doncaster Choral Society last year raised in excess of £1000 – a fund which enables the choir to continue the presentation of high quality concerts in Doncaster with professional orchestra and soloists. The music at each recital was a fascinating blend of ancient and modern, featuring particularly well-known and popular pieces contrasting with standard organ repertoire and works of greater historic significance. Doncaster Choral Society is immensely indebted to the incumbents and church authorities at each venue for the warmth of their welcome. Each recital was followed by Refreshments laid on by church members. |
Again this August, Doncaster Choral Society conductor Dr Simon Lindley was in South Yorkshire in and around Doncaster every Tuesday evening to present a light-hearted concert of an hour's duration in his popular annual TOCCATA TUESDAYS series.

Simon Lindley says:
I am thrilled, once again, to be able to give a further series of concerts in support of the great work undertaken each season by the enthusiastic and committed members of Doncaster Choral Society. The Doncaster Choir is one of the jewels in Yorkshire’s musical crown and it is a real pleasure, as well as a privilege, to be able to work with these wonderful singers on a regular basis in rehearsal and concert. The Society deserves all the support that can be mustered to assist it in its laudable endeavours.
